I have produced, written and recorded a number of songs and albums under my own name. This song in particular was entirely produced and recorded by myself.
As the only part I did not perform, the most complicated element to work with here was the live drums from Samuel Heitmiller. I found a relatively dry drum that worked best with the punchy layers of guitar.
This song is a dark, funky electro-pop song by singer, songwriter and producer Sinhong Park (aka. Irulan).
The basis for much of this song was already recorded when I joined the process, but my electric guitar was the propulsive element the song needed for release.
This was a live guitar contribution for a performance from R&B singer Jia Bae (aka. Hevel). I reharmonized a lot of these otherwise lush compostions to work in a stripped down context. The minimal nature of the performance allows both the guitar and vocal to shine in their respective elements.
My second full length album was my largest compositional work to date. In collaboration with performers Corbin Stanchfield (bass guitar), Samuel Heitmiller (drum kit), and co-producer Sinhong Park, I crafted an expansive rock album that harkens back to classic singer-songwriter music with loud, modern electric instrumentation. My contributions were vocals, lyrics, composition, production, guitar, harmonica and keys.
The below song is the first single from this album, Bruxism.
